All about your community hospital and our initiative to keep the hospital serving the Northwest Corner of Connecticut.
Nuvance, the corporate owner of Sharon Hospital, recently announced plans to close Labor and Delivery and make cuts to the Surgical Department and the Intensive Care Unit within the next year. Our community needs these vital healthcare services to remain in our area. Sharon Hospital physicians and RNs agree with us - they voted 25-to-1 against Nuvance’s proposed cuts!
Save Sharon Hospital originally formed in 2018, the last time Sharon Hospital tried to close Labor and Delivery. At that time, we came together as a community to keep Maternity open, and we succeeded. Together, we can do it again!
WAYS TO GET INVOLVED:
1) Contact your state and local representatives and tell them you don’t agree with Sharon Hospital’s plans to close Maternity or downsize the Surgery Department or the ICU. We've made this easy for you. You can also find contact info for your elected officials here (link to contact list).
2) Join us at a community rally (link to rally flier) on Saturday, November 6 at 3pm at the Sharon Town Green. We will stand together in support of maintaining our hospital’s vital services.
3) Sign this petition (link to petition-pending) to keep Labor and Delivery and other vital healthcare services in our area.
4) Watch the meeting between our elected representatives and Sharon Hospital on November 5 at 1pm (link TBD), and make sure you contact your local and state officials (link to contact info) in advance of the meeting to state the importance of their attendance; maintaining Sharon Hospital as a full-service hospital is important to their constituents!
